Ashwin Altekar has a B.S. in Computer Engineering and a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ashwin is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), SANS GIAC Security Essentials Certified (GSEC), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), and trained Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA).
During his career, Ashwin has helped organizations develop, implement, and manage information security programs to balance business functionality with security requirements. Ashwin regularly presents to and trains developers and IT managers in Information Security concepts and techniques.
In the past, Ashwin has consulted as a security generalist and specialized in applications and network security. Using his experience with assembly, C#, and Java programming, Ashwin has secured hundreds of applications and networks of Fortune 100 retail, financial, and health-care companies. Ashwin has served as a Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) for Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance initiatives for merchants and large financial institutions.
Outside of his professional career, Ashwin is a Big in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, plays as a violinist in the North Texas Symphonic Orchestra (NTSO), and participates in recreational soccer teams.
